The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 kicks off in Morocco tonight (Sunday, July 26), with Kenya’s Harambee Starlets facing the hosts at 11:00pm (Kenyan time) in a bid for a record $2 million (Sh260 million) winner's prize.
All 34 matches of the expanded tournament, which doubles as a 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier, will be broadcast on SuperSport with KBC showing some of the action after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and CANAL+ concluded an agreement that will see the tournament broadcast live on SuperSport across Sub-Saharan Africa, with Kenyan viewers also able to watch the Harambee Starlets in action on national broadcaster KBC.
The tournament kicks off with Algeria playing Senegal at the Olympic Stadium from 8pm Kenyan time (6pm Rabat time) and Morocco hosting Kenya at Moulay El Hassan Stadium from 11pm Kenyan time (9pm Rabat time).
All 34 matches in the competition will be available to Access customers on DStv, DStv Stream, GOtv and GOtv Stream, meaning more people will be able to enjoy the celebration of African women’s football.
The expanded 16-team version of the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON promises to be one of the most exciting editions of the Competition yet with record prize money of $2 million (Sh260 million) for the winners of the final on August 16.
The four semi-finalists will qualify for the 2027 Fifa women’s World Cup which will take place from 24 June to 25 July 2027 as the 10th edition in Brazil.
It will be the first Fifa Women’s World Cup to be held in South America with host cities being Belo Horizonte (Estádio Mineirão), Brasília (Estádio Nacional), Fortaleza (Arena Castelão), Porto Alegre (Estádio Beira-Rio), Recife (Arena de Pernambuco), Rio de Janeiro (Estádio do Maracanã), Salvador (Arena Fonte Nova) and São Paulo (Arena Itaquera).
